Horse Racing Systems - January 31, 2008Yesterday Aqueduct closed after three races due to high winds. Today we are back at Aqueduct for two races and Gulfstream Park for two. Today's Best Bet: Aqueduct Race 5 (# 7) Summer Pleasure. Today's Horse Racing Picks: (# 6) DARKSIDE HOLIDAY - Solid second in debut in mud. Middle moved into a fast pace and continued very well late. Well bred, both sides continue to improve. From a top stable. Hot rider aboard. (# 5) Grapple - Also ran a solid second in debut. Heavily bet that day. Winner came back to repeat. Garcia gets off this one to ride top pick. Gets Dominguez today. (# 2) Magical Forest - Continues to show improvement with each start. Stretches out after closing 6.5 lengths in the stretch last out. Drops weight with bug boy up. Negative is that he comes from a low percentage trainer. GULFSTREAM PARK Race #THREE (2:15 PM Eastern) (# 9) ULTIMATE AUTHORITY - Solid efforts in both starts at five furlongs on grass. Nearly overcame a slow start to win last despite having to check in the stretch. Huge win in only other five-furlong grass outing. Gets big rider change. (# 3) Doneitagain - Makes first start on grass off the Ziade claim. This trainer is amazing with new aquisitions. Gets first-time lasix and speed rider aboard. (# 7) Joey The Scholar - Cuts back to a sprint after a series of very strong efforts, two of them wins. Overmatched last out in Grade 3 stake. Gets a huge rider change. AQUEDUCT Race #FIVE (2:25 PM Eastern) (# 7) SUMMER PLEASURE - Very game effort in last dueling from start to finish. Has been given 27 days to recover from that effort. Can sit a good stalking trip from outside post. Top trainer. (# 6) African Treasure - Red hot trainer ships in this filly for first NY start. Overmatched in stake last out. Cuts back. Good maiden win two back at this distance. (# 2) Goretty - Has excellant gate speed and will try to wire this field. Steps up in class, but is very sharp right now. GULFSTREAM PARK Race #EIGHT (4:40 PM Eastern) (# 2) TSALI - Solid third in last off a long layoff. Hurt by a very bad trip. Stretches out to a better distance and back on a dry track. Hall Of Fame trainer. (# 1) Gstaad - Huge effort last out off the layoff and first start at Gulfstream. Held very well setting a pressured fast pace from the start. Cut back in distance can only help. (# 6) Marnesia's Big Boy - Strong win in last in second start off a layoff. Edged clear after setting a pressured quick pace from the start. Well posted on the outside. Horse Racing Picks Resources:
