Horse Racing Betting Systems - February 06, 2010I thought we'd really mix it up today and have a menu of nothing but "Stakes" with a pair each from Gulfstream and Santa Anita and one from the "Big A". Today's Best Bet is #9 Misremembered in Race #9 at Santa Anita. Friday's Results: Aqueduct Race #4 Top Pick #7 (Well Babe) $6.60.  Today's Horse Racing Picks: Top pick: #2 (EIGHTYFIVEINAFIFTY) - Very highly thought of since finishing third in his debut at Saratoga to future Grade One winner "Dublin". Colt broke his maiden easily on Jan. 9 his first start since his August 1st unveiling. Working sharply since, he'll be trying both winners, and two-turns for the first time. The top pick. 2nd pick: #5 (Three Day Rush) - Interesting Florida shipper brings a solid resume and was a stakes winner last season at Monmouth. He won an entry level allowance at Gulfstream on Jan. 9 and was sent here from the loaded barn of Todd Pletcher. He's a worthy challenger to the top pick. 3rd pick: #1 (Turf Melody) - He's won a stakes going two turns at Remington Park so the distance is not a question. Draws the rail, which has been good the past week. Win candidate from the dangerous barn of Graham Motion. GULFSTREAM PARK Race #9 (THE GULFSTREAM PARK TURF HDCP.(G1)) at 5:00 PM Eastern Top pick: #3 (COURT VISION) - Has the best races and to go along with it the best "figures." Working fast for his first start since finishing a close-up fourth in the "Breeder's Cup Mile"(G1) simply put, if he brings his "A" game they're all in big trouble. 2nd pick: #5 (Take The Points) - Speed/stalker of some quality won a pair of important stakes during his '09 campaign and he's been working steadily at Palm Meadows for his first since late November. His speed gives him a bit of a shot at an upset. 3rd pick: #1 (Le Grand Cru) - Longshot looks set for a theft attempt from his inside post. He tired badly last out in the "Hal's Hope"(G3) in his first start in two months. He's take them as far as he can and at the least will ensure a fast pace. GULFSTREAM PARK Race #10 at 5:30 PM Eastern Top pick: #4 (QUALITY ROAD) - The best race of this talented runners career came at this distance on this track when he won the "Florida Derby" (G1) last March. Looked sharp in winning the "Hal's Hope" (G3) last out and appears to be over any physical and mental problems that have plagued him in the past. The top pick. 2nd pick: #6 (Past The Point ) - He's the main speed and he gave "Custom For Carlos" a tough battle last out in a sprint stakes. Working fast since he'll stretch-out in distance for this, somethinh he's done successfully in the past. 3rd pick: #5 (Dry Martini) - Likes to come from far back and he had a nice "tightener" in the "Fort Lauderdale" (G3) on Jan. 10. Working fast since, the quicker the pace the better his chances. 4th pick: #1 (Kiss the Kid) - He's been a very solid performer his whole career and interestingly enough has gotten better with age and a switch back to the main-track. Draws a great post and continues to train well. Contender at a nice price. 5th pick: #2 (You and I Forever) - His trainer (Marty Wolfson) specializes in big races and this stalker is coming off a solid second-place finish to the top pick last out. SANTA ANITA Race #8 (THE ROBERT B. LEWIS (G2)) at 7:05 PM Eastern Top pick: #3 (TIZ CHROME) - Undefeated runner from the barn of Bob Baffert has easily won his first pair, the latest being the "Stuka" stakes at Hollywood Park on Dec. 19. Working fast on this surface for his three-year-old debut he, like several other entered will be trying a two-turn race for the first time. The top selection. 2nd pick: #1 (Macias) - This talented colt also hails from the Baffert barn and is a stakes winner on this surface and also on the local turf. Working fast and he draws the rail. Has a big shot at beating his barn-mate. 3rd pick: #6 (American Lion) - He won the "Hollywood Prevue" (G3) in his west coast debut and he hasn't raced since that Nov. 21 race. Another who's working swiftly and another who'll be trying two-turns for the first time. 4th pick: #2 (Dave in Dixie) - He obviously has talent, but his lack of speed is a bit of a concern. Working fast and he hails from the powerful barn of John Sadler. Late threat. SANTA ANITA Race #9 (THE STRUB STAKES (G2)) at 7:35 PM Eastern Top pick: #9 (MISREMEMBERED) - Obviuosly named after the famous Roger Clemens' faux pas a couple of years ago when he was testifying before the senate. That said, this runners record "speaks for itself." Very competitive (9-4-3-0), lightly raced, has a versatile style, and is working very fast for this. The top pick he's one of two entered by trainer Bob Baffert and they'll race as separate interests. 2nd pick: #8 (Smart Bid) - Races third off a layoff and he finished a sharp pace-setting/pressing second last out in the Grade Two "San Fernando". Looks set for his best. 3rd pick: #2 (Rendevous) - Runs second off a layoff and veteran stakes performer has a very fast work heading into this. Capable at this level especially if the pace is a bit quicker than I anticipate. 4th pick: #10 (Massone) - One run type is at home on "poly", dirt, or turf. Working fast he has a lot of experience at this 9-furlong trip (5-0-2-2) and should make some noise down the stretch.
