Handicapping - December 06, 2007We had another great trifecta hit yesterday, this time from Hawthorne race No. 6 where we boxed runners 9-1-8 for a tidy $218.20 payday. Four races from Aqueduct, Fair Grounds and another night contest from Turfway Park will provide today's menu. Today's Best Bet is # 4 Chita Tycoon in Race # 4 at Aqueduct. Wednesday's Results: Aqueduct Race #4 Top Pick Winner #7 (Tough Bellesa) Paid $6. Original top pick scratched. Hawthorne Race #6 Trifecta Box (9-1-8) Paid $218.20. Turfway Park Race #4 Best Bet Winner #7 (Stormy Arctic) Paid: $4.20. Today's Horse Racing Picks: (# 4) CHITA TYCOON - Speedy sort drops to lowest level ever. Has a nice drill for this return from a late-September layoff. Trainer excells with this type of move. (# 5) B.L's Fire Worden - Ran like a horse in need of his return run against better at Belmont in early October. Freshened since, he drops to a level where he should run well. (# 7) Brian's Cat Can Do - Certainly is fit enough, but turf performer needs to handle this surface switch. May show some speed. (# 8) Devilshire - Decent race in return off a May layoff. Will be hung out and needs to find more late. AQUEDUCT Race #SIX (2:45 PM Eastern) (# 3) SPECIAL FORMAT - Fair effort in the slop last out for this daughter of "Dynaformer." Hails from a good barn (Alan Goldberg), and when employing Dominguez(like today) they click at a phenomenal 36% together. This is her first appearance in a claimer. (# 1) Cupid's Gallop - Daughter of "Victory Gallop" is improving little by little. Addition of blinkers helped in most recent start, and she enjoys the best post in her first try at two turns on the dirt. (# 2) Lucky Val - Deep closer is in shape at present, and gets a ground-saving trip with the short run to the first turn. Needs some fast/contested pace to run. (# 4) Alchera - Has enough good efforts on dirt that she has to be considered in this weak gathering. Also should be in the first flight of runners, which is where the winner will likely emerge. FAIR GROUNDS Race #FOUR (3:00 PM Eastern) (# 12) GREEDEE ME - Good barn (Patrick Mouton) brings runner back from a March layoff. Works indicate that he'll come back a much better horse. Can run by these late. Good wager would be to box all five runners in a .10 superfecta. (# 7) Raksh's Time Bandit - Hasn't raced since his debut performance last March. Ran well in a good effort. Very fast work on the Evangeline training track for this. (# 11) Brigtsen - This is a first-time starter by "Indian Charlie." Has been working steadily since August, so he has a solid foundation under him. One of a pair from Andy Leggio, they will race uncoupled. (# 6) Pelto - The second of the Leggio pair, he showed improved speed in his last start at Evangeline Downs in early August. Sharp drill here on November 10. Sneaks away at a good price. (# 8) Validjo - Asmussen runner hasn't started since June of 2006. Well bet in all three races, he showed speed at that time. Has several good works. TURFWAY PARK Race #SIX (7:40 PM Eastern) (# 6) CHIEF COMMANDER - Can run on turf or dirt. Has a win over this artificial surface on his resume. Very sharp work on November 28 for this assignment. (# 7) Twin Talk - Stretches back out to a distance he has been very successful at in the past. Was given some time off recently after a busy year and came back at churchill with a fine showing in a sprint. Looks well set up here. (# 2) Liveinthepresent - He's coming off a three month vacation after having a busy, and prifitable 2007. Has faced better most of the season. Need only be ready off the bench to factor. (# 5) Swerve - Gelding has won a total of five races over this surface. Has been off his form a bit, so he drops in class and gets blinkers on today. Horse Racing Picks Resources:
