Horse Handicapping - December 03, 2007Yesterday we hit a nice exacta (5-11) on Aqueduct's ninth race for $42. Today we direct our attention to South Florida and Calder Race Course for four races. Today's Best Bet is #4 Rockin Inthe Rain in Race #3 at Calder. Sunday's Results: Aqueduct Race #4 Top Pick winner #1 (Dani Tom Boy) Paid $5.90. Aqueduct Race #6 To Pick Winner #6 (Psycho D J) Paid $4.40. Aqueduct Race #9 Top Pick Winner #5 (Mesa Girl) Paid $9.40. Exacta Top Pick with 3rd pick (5-11) Paid $42. Today's Horse Racing Picks: (# 4) ROCKIN Inthe Rain - Heavily bet in only appearance which came at Belmont in mid-September. Set a very fast pace and tired badly. Has trained sharply at Palm Meadows since arriving in Florida. Wire-to-wire threat. (# 3) Miss Tris - Filly raced well at Arlington in a pair of races this summer. Had an inside post at Keeneland and raced with steady pressure to her outside in latest appearance. Threat for the win. (# 1) Lethal Quality - Daughter of "Elusive Quality" raced wide after starting from a poor post in last at Keeneland. Has been freshened up for six weeks by Trainer "Shug" McGaughey. Goes better today from the rail. CALDER Race #FOUR (1:45 PM Eastern) (# 6) MEMORABLE MICHELLE - Strong win candidate, and she should be "keyed" on top and maybe in second place in tris and or supers. Hard to envision her not running first or second. (# 9) Fleet Rita - Am including this filly, but I'm not sure she'll run, as she needs scratches to get in . Dangerous if she does. (# 4) Glacial Breeze - Last was by far her best effort ever, stayed on well the whole race and finished fourth. Think she has found the right surface. (# 8) Send Joyce - First pair on grass were good, the next three off the turf were poor outings. Grasses today, but tries a distance for the first time. (# 3) Oh So Sybil - Can't ignore the fact that she has run six races, three on each surface, and the grass races are by far her better ones. Not a win candidate, but possible for super and tri. CALDER Race #FIVE (2:15 PM Eastern) (# 4) ROADSTER - Bill Mott trainee goes fresh off a June layoff. Only race was on the turf. Son of "Street Cry" tries dirt and a distance for the first time. May try to wire these, or sit just off the lead. (# 7) Brookey - Has been coming around of late. Last on turf was poor, but it should help his stamina issues. Previous pair of dirt tries showed some encouraging signs. (# 1) High End Prospect - $190,000 son of "Fortunate Prospect" dives into a claimer for the first time. Goes second off a layoff, and tries a distance for the initial time. If he has any ability, he'll show it here. (# 2) Hes In My Pocket - Not sure he can repeat latest as he hasn't run good races back-to-back. He might clear, and that should enable him to maybe hit the board. CALDER Race #TEN (4:30 PM Eastern) (# 3) CATCH ME CUPID - When dropped to this $10,000 price she runs well. Has kept mostly tougher company since breaking her maiden. Filly should be on the lead from the onset and likes to fight it out. Probable favorite. (# 5) Miss Killian - Sharp maiden win last out. Blinker addition two back has helped turn this filly around. Has speed or can stalk. Fits the race well. (# 4) Alamet - Latest effort was his best in four tries since breaking his maiden. Stayed on well and held his position. Contender if it's repeatable. (# 1) Lucky Landing - Broke his maiden two back in start number nine. First try against winners was encouraging. Draws the rail and may grab a share. Horse Racing Picks Resources:
