Hawthorne Race #5 Top Pick Winner #6 Crafty Melissa Paid $3.40. Exacta Top Pick with 2nd. Pick (6-4) Paid $18.80. Today's Horse Racing Picks: (# 1) DANI TOM BOY - Ran twice at Gulfstream when in the Todd Pletcher barn. Heavily bet in both, she displayed fine speed in that initial pair. On the shelf since, daughter of "Grand Slam" is now in the Ben perkins Jr. barn. She's been working up a storm at Monmouth. (# 10) Jordans Lane - Goes second off a spring layoff. Has shown hints of ability for the Dick Dutrow barn. Moves outside and should be much tighter today. (# 8) Ambience - Speed shown in debut and she stayed on well to get the place. Violette/Coa filly need only repeat that effort to be competitive here. (# 5) So Glitzy - Has some finishing ability, and could get into the exotics with a late run. Goes third off a Gulfstream layoff. AQUEDUCT Race #SIX (2:45 PM Eastern) (# 6) PSYCHO D J - Heavily backed at the windows in initial pair in late-summer, early- fall. Trouble in debut, but still finished second. Big speed shown in second before tiring. Great set of morning drills, and she looks to be sitting on a big one. (# 3) Omnyti - Excellent debut race for Hall of Famer Bill Mott. Ran in a seven-furlong race first out, a tough assignment. Pressed the pace while wide and stayed on well late. Good drills since. (# 5) Tembisa - Debuts for trainer Rick Violette who knows how to get them ready. Daughter of "Johannesburg" cost $240,000 and was working well at Saratoga in August. May have needed more conditioning to get her racing fit. (# 1) More Memories - First-time starter from the John Kimmel barn. Filly by "Yes It's True" has several better than average works on her resume. TURFWAY PARK Race #FIVE (3:00 PM Eastern) (# 12) MONK - Drops in half, going from $30k to $15K. Has faced better all season. Stalking ability and a good post to do it from. Strong win contender. (# 5) Acallaway - Goes second off a June layoff for a top outfit (Greg Foley). Brings sub :45 speed to the contest. Looks all set for a theft attempt. (# 3) Starry Knight - Tried a mile in last at Churchill. Pressed the pace while under pressure on both sides. Cuts back to a sprint, and he should be involved right from the start. (# 6) Hands of Stone - Expensive ($125,000) gelding by "Two Punch" has won two of his last three. Brings some speed and he's getting better with experience. AQUEDUCT Race #NINE (4:10 PM Eastern) (# 5) MESA GIRL - Tries a claimer for the Pletcher/Velazquez combination. Debut came in a troubled grass sprint. Caught mud in return from a two-month layoff. Shows whatever she has against these. (# 1) Phil Cat - Trouble in last at a mile. Debut came in a turf sprint. Blinkers are added and he drops in class. Contessa is doing little wrong lately. (# 11) Linden Ave - Cuts back from a mile to six furlongs. Speed shown in last, and he may get a perfect stalking trip. (# 2) Patty'scombination - Draws the rail and goes in a claimer for the initial time. Hasn't shown much, but the rail should help him out. Pace in last was unusually fast for the level. Goes better today. (# 13) Doodlin - Continues to get bet whenever he runs. Blinkers come off and he goes in claimer for the first time. Needs a scratch to get in. TURFWAY PARK Race #NINE (4:50 PM Eastern) (# 1) FIGHTER PILOT - Ran a bit erratically in Churchill debut for Wayne Lucas. Son of "Cherokee Run" has worked swiftly both before and after his first race. May surprise this crew. (# 3) Mackinaw - Tired in the slop at Churchill on Nov. 14. Drops into a claimer for the first time, and is a win contender. (# 5) Vaya Con Dios - Win contender ran very well in his first with blinkers. Showed big speed when in for $50K in last at Churchill. Appears to be headed in the right direction. (# 11) Mr. Winchester - Speed shown in last at Churchill, his first start in blinkers. There is pace inside of him, so he may have to stalk and try to make a late run. Horse Racing Picks Resources:
