Horse Racing Methods Systems - December 01, 2007Today I have scoured the nation looking for my strongest plays. These five selections come from Aqueduct, Fair Grounds, Hawthorne and Turfway. Today's Best Bet is: Hawthorne Race #2 (# 3) ROAD SHOW. Friday's Results: Aqueduct Race #5 Exacta 2nd with top (6-1) Paid $23.80. Today's Horse Racing Picks: (# 7) PENNINGTON - Eighth-place finish in debut better than it looks. Hard used chasing quick pace wide all the way. Good effort in last over slop stretching to a route. Dangerous tactical speed today going two turns. Switches to go-to rider Coa. (# 3) Will Never Bend - Best career in last stretching out to a dirt route for the first time. Gets monumental rider change from awful bug boy to solid apprentice. Draws good post. (# 2) Fly The North Wind - Back on dry track and draws rail which can only help. Best career race in lone start on the inner. FAIR GROUNDS Race #THREE (2:30 PM Eastern) (# 5) SWEETDOWNTHELANE - Returns for solid trainer. Takes big drop in class after having rough trip in a stake last out. Sharp and very consistent form in prior starts against similar. Big workout Nov. 24. (# 3) Atlanta Highway - Returns for strong layoff trainer. Overmatched in Gr. 3 stake in last. Three straight wins in prior starts showing improvement each time. Gets top rider Albarado. (# 6) Adhrhythm - Like top two picks, she was outclassed in a stake last out. Solid win two back in fast time. Versatile filly can leave or stalk the pace. TURFWAY Race #FOUR (2:30 PM Eastern) (# 12) TEX AND THE CITY - Makes first start for Smithwick returning from a freshening. This trainer is excellent with new acquisitions and returnees. Very consistent six-year-old has the tactical speed to sit a good stalking trip. Good works over this course. (# 7) Hold That Dancer - Hurt by slow start and wide trip in last. Good efforts prior starts. Likes polytrack. (# 3) Foxy Knickers - Dangerous inside speed in field lacking much early lick. Improvement expected second start off a layoff. Main question is the six-furlong distance. (# 8) Strong Cat - Chance to wake up at a price taking hidden drop in class. "Sneaky" close in last. Two-of-four wins over this track. Will be a price. HAWTHORNE Race #TWO (3:05 PM Eastern) (# 3) ROAD SHOW - Makes first start for Catalano who is one of the best in the US off the claim. Confident boost in class after a decisive win in fast time Nov 17. Loves this course. Tactical speed with Thornton back aboard. (# 6) My Little Connor - Makes first start at Hawthorne off a positive trainer change to Von Hemmel. Consistent six-year-old should benefit off the bench for strong layoff trainer. Will be closing late. (# 5) Rucker - Takes smart drop in class rounding back to winning form. Made good middle move and continued well late in last. Barn overdue for a win. HAWTHORNE Race #FIVE (4:30 PM Eastern) (# 6) CRAFTY MELISSA - Takes confident boost in class after a powerful win in last. Has excellent early speed. Cut back in distance can only help. Two-for-two lifetime over this strip. (# 12) Susan's Song - Suspicious drop in class off the Catalano claim, but this barn is awesome with new acquistions. Wide trip in last. Strong second two back. Can stalk or close. (# 4) Rooville - Steps up in good form. Six-of-nine wins over this track. Eight-of-nine at the distance. Has good tactical speed and right post for running style.
