Today's Horse Racing Picks: Top pick: #5 (CAPE GIRL) - Goes for her third straight win off the Walder claim, who is winning at a huge 30% here. Three-for-three at Delaware. Smart move to keep at the same $10,000 level. 2nd pick: #1 (Cashew Cat) - Fourth place finish off the claim in last, better than it looks on paper. Jumped up at the start, then rushed up to chase a solid pace. Gets a positive rider change to Saez. Dangerous speed from post 1. 3rd pick: #7 (Charmed By Charlie) - Improved in last taking smart drop to this level. Has the speed to overcome outside post. PHILADELPHIA Race #6 at 2:30 PM Eastern Top pick: #8 (POWERSTOWN) - 30% trainer at this meet, drops this colt into a claimer for the first time. This is a very potent angle for maidens. Dangerous speed back on dirt. Gets main go to rider at Philly. 2nd pick: #7 (Salty Lake) - Strong second in debut at this distance and level. Boosted in class last out and raced evenly. Back to level of debut today. 3rd pick: #2 (Its A Grandslam) - Another who drops into a claimer for the first time. Can shoot to the lead or stalk. PHILADELPHIA Race #7 at 2:55 PM Eastern Top pick: #2 (SMOOTH CALL) - Ran best career race in last dropping to this level for the first time. Would have won if not bothered at the start and wide throughout. Draws good post. 2nd pick: #4 (Paco) - New claim for barn that does well with new aquisitions. Looks to be the main speed on the stretch out. 3rd pick: #5 (Winged Warrior) - Must respect his chances taking smart drop to this level for the first time. Top rider. Tactical speed. 4th pick: #7 (Sunshine Bernie) - Hurt by troubled start in last. Still managed to close well. Likes this course. Barn doing well here. DELAWARE Race #6 at 3:00 PM Eastern Top pick: #4 (Balrog) - Big improvement expected making second start off a layoff and a smart drop in class. Cooked in very fast pace. Third finisher came back to score. 2nd pick: #1 (JACK BE FAST) - Despite being 1-15 lifetime, he is in the best form of those who have even had more chances to win than this one. Reunited with Homeister who was aboard in his maiden win. Tactical speed. 3rd pick: #3 (Buddha Past) - Has steadily imrpoved last four starts off a layoff. Lone win over this course and distance. 4th pick: #5 (I Pick You) - Big improvement in last start switching from polytrack to dirt. Tired slowly after chasing a solid pace.
