Ottawa owns an 11-5 record against Atlanta including 7-3 in games played in Atlanta. Both teams have performed well of late with Atlanta having won 6 of 7 and Ottawa 5 of 6. Tonight newly acquired center Tyler Arnason maks his debut for the Senators. They are trying to catch Carolina who has a four point lead in the Eastern conference. With their loss two nights ago to Florida, Ottawa will be focused tonight. Meanwhile, Atlanta might be winded here, playing their 3rd game in 5 days. Ottawa scores 3.8 goals per game on the road and they are holding opponents to 2.4 per game over their last five games. Atlanta's defense is susceptible, especially to a high powered offense like Ottawa's. Three stars on the Senators to bounce back from their loss in convincing fashion.

Speaking of Carolina, the Hurricanes see Ottawa in their rear view mirror and look to stretch their Eastern conference lead. They've won five of six games and get the help of Mark Recchi tonight. Recchi had 24 goals and 33 assists in 63 games with the Penguins before coming over to Carolina. Carolina is also off a loss and will be focused as well here as a result. The Hurricanes are a near perfect 9-1 as a road favorite this year and 26-8 vs. losing teams. As is the case with Atlanta, Florida is playing their third game in five days and home dogs in that situation are 31-91 (25%) over the last five seasons. Carolina scores 3.6 goals per game on the road and will overpower a tired Florida team tonight. Two stars on Carolina.
