**Detroit +105 over COLORADO (2:05 Eastern)
Colorado was on fire - until their last game when they lost to the struggling Blackhawks. Now they get a team that really has a legit shot at beating them again. Detroit doesn't often find itself an underdog but when it is, it takes advantage. The Red Wings are 9-1 as a dog over the last three seasons. This will be a great game as both teams are averaging 3.7 goals per game on the season. If Colorado's defense plays like it has recently, they should win. But, I like Detroit in the dog role. Two stars on the Red Wings.
**Carolina -170 over WASHINGTON (7:35 Eastern)
Carolina continues to roll having now won nine straight. Washington has reeled off three straight victories but will have a tough go of it here. Carolina rocks weak teams. They are 12-1 this season vs. teams that have been outscored by .3+ goals per game. They are 20-5 against teams that allow 17.5%+ power play conversion. And, they are 19-3 vs. teams that that allow 30 or more shots on goal per game this season. Road favorites of -200 or less at 60%+ on the season off a home game where both teams scored 3 or more goals are 33-8 (81%) since 1996 when facing losing teams. This is just a huge mismatch and I like Carolina to take it down. Two stars ont he Hurricanes.
***NASHVILLE -285 over Columbus (8:05 Eastern)
Big line here but for a reason. Nashvilel is 7-3 over the last three seasons vs. Columbus including 3-1 here at home. On the road, Columbus is getting beaten on average by a score of 2.4 to 3.8. Nashville is crushing division opponents by 2 goals per game this year on way to an 11-2 record. Horrible road teams off an overtime win are 11-39 (22%) since 1996. Nashville for three stars.
**Edmonton -110 over PHOENIX (9:05 Eastern)
Edmonton has struggles losing 4 of their last five gaes. But, favorites having lost 4 or 5 of their last 6 games, winning between 51% and 60% of their games on the season are 69-19 (78%) in the second half of the season over the last 5 seasons. The Oilers have a strong offense and Phoenix's weakness is defense. The Coyotes are allowing 4 goals per game over their last five. Two stars on the Oilers here.
***ANAHEIM -160 over Florida (10:35 Eastern)
Florida has won only 4 of 25 road games as an underdog this year. Against good offensive teams like Anaheim (those averaging 30+ SOG per game), Florida is just 1-13. Florida scores just 2.2 per game on the road while alowing 3.6. Anaheim scores 3.3 per game at home, bolstered by 19% power play conversion and 33 shots on goal per game. Three stars on the Ducks.
