The NBA picks have done poorly over the past week and we're at just .500 (12-12) in April. Not the start to the month anyone wanted. Working hard to get things back on track. We're still profitable on the season and 83-72 over the past two months. Three picks tonight.

Game: Chicago at Atlanta (7:05 PM Eastern)

The Hawks have played the Bulls twice this year and have fallen short both times. So, why am I on Hotlanta now? Well, even though the Bulls are attempting to get in the playoffs, the Hawks are playing great basketball at home. They are recently 4-0 ATS as a home underdog and 3-0 ATS coming off an ATS loss as they did against the up and coming Magic recently on the road. During this span, the Hawks have beat calibre opponents including Indiana and Washington at home. More than 70% of the betting public is on the Bulls tonight, so let's fade the public as they are wrong the majority of the time.

Washington's play of late and the fact that they are on the road has landed them as underdogs in this game. This game is very reminiscent of the Wizards game recently when the played the Celtics to avenge a home loss in which they went and beat the team well into double digits. Now, this team plays the Bucks to avenge a similar home loss earlier this year on December the 2nd. The Wizards are a great to team to wager on after a SU loss as they are 8-2 ATS after such a loss and are 5-2 ATS as a road underdog. Although the Bucks are playing decent basketball at this time, I like the Wizards for the fact that they show up strong after a loss. They are simply too talented to keep losing or not playing up to their potential. Milwaukee's off a big loss to Philly and April home favorites of 3.5 to 9.5 points off a home loss by 10 points or more are just 6-28 (18%) ATS since 1996.

These two teams met less than 24 hours ago and the total was 198 in Denver. 219 points were scored. Now, the location changes to Utah and the line is set lower at 196.5. However, this time around, Denver looks to avenge a rare home court loss to the Jazz as they attempt to return the favor. There are several trends that point to the total here. Denver has played over 6 of 8 times as an underdog and the last 10 out of 13 for the Nuggets overall have been over. Games in Utah, unlike last year, have been going consistently over as the over is 13-5 when the Jazz are favored and the over is 8-2 when the Jazz are favored between 0 and 5 points.
