*CINCINNATI
+103 over Milwaukee (12:35 Eastern)
Eric
Milton has struggled recently but he's alwasy
done well against the Brewers. He's 3-0 with
an ERA of 2.48 vs. the Brew Crew. The Brewers
also typically fail to take advantage of bad
pitching. They are just 10-21 vs. starting
pitchers whose ERA is 5.70 or worse over the
last 2 seasons. Chris Capuano is hot but he's
just 0-2 against the Reds
with a 5.40 ERA.
Cincinnati's
offense has certainly cooled but we believe they
get it done here today at home today. One star
on the Reds.
*OAKLAND
-184 over Seattle (3:35 Eastern)
Time
for Oakland to bust out of this slump. Today
they get an awful road opponent and a lefty
start. The A's score 5.8 per game against lefties
like Moyer. Seattle's scoring 2.9 runs per
game over their last seven. And, Oakland starts
ace Dan Haren who has a 3.66 home ERA this
season that's dropped to 2.66 over his last
three starts. Teams allowing
4.2 or less runs/game on the season, coming
off 2 straight losses by 2 runs or less are
48-20 (71%) over the last 5 seasons.
Home favorites of -150
or more with a team batting average
of .265 or worse on the season, after
allowing 3 runs or less 2 straight games are
100-26 (79%) over the last 5 seasons. And,
home favorites with a winning record revenging
2 straight losses where team scored 2 or less
runs vs. a losing team are 39-9 (81%) over
the last 5 seasons. Take the A's for one star.
*San
Francisco -115 over LA DODGERS (10:05 Eastern)
Two
teams going in opposite directions here. Even
with out Barry, the Giants are making a strong
playoff run here, having jumped from 4th to 2nd
after winning 8 of thier last 10 games. The Dogers
have dropped 5 of their last 7. Jason Schmidt
has been on fire lately posting a 1.74 ERA in
his last three starts. The ice-cold Dogers bats
will struggle to score tonight against him. and
the Giants' bullpen. Since the All-Star break,
San Francisco is beating the teams they should,
going 13-4 vs. bad teams that are under .460.
One star on Schmidt and the G-Men.

How
much to bet? I recommend 1% of your bankroll for every
star. A one-star pick = 1% of bankroll. A five-star pick
= 5% of bankroll. It is strongly recommended that
you never bet more than 5% of your bankroll on any given
game! Remember, there are no such thing as locks.
Never bet over your head and you'll live to see another
day. Approach your bets as an investment that grows steadily
over the long-term. For more, see
my write-up on Bankroll
Management.
