Wunderdog NFL Picks and Pro Football Predictions 2002 Weekly NFL Picks Regular
Season Week 3 Welcome
to the 2002 Week 3 Wunderdog NFL Newsletter It's still early in the season, making the use of statistics a bit dangerous. However, based on my statistical analysis, the odds-makers did a remarkably good job this week setting lines... for the most part. There are three games I like: I think there
is a lot of value with Buffalo getting
9 against Denver but I am slightly wary about
going with a team that had to work so hard to win
two weeks in a row. I also think Tampa Bay will cover
against St. Louis at home on Monday night. The Rams
are due for a win in a big way but TB is playing
much better and you have to love Monday night home
dogs. In addition to these strong leans, I have one
game that I'll feature in more detail:
Carolina
+6 over Minnesota
Similar
to what happened last week with New Orleans, we
have a team
in Carolina that just isn't getting the respect it
deserves, despite a very strong start. The public
still believes that Carolina is no good but this
isn't the same team that went 1-15 last year. Rodney
Peete is playing better than he ever has and the
Panthers have the #2 defense in the NFL after two
weeks. New head coach John Fox has this team playing
with confidence while the 0-2 Vikings are reeling.
The Panthers know they can take this one because
their one win last year came against (you guessed
it) the Vikings in the Metrodome. Minnesota is allowing
36 points a game. Go with Carolina and the upset!
Good luck!
