NEW YORK JETS
+2.5 over Buffalo (4:15PM Eastern)
Winless teams off a bye – gotta love ‘em! New York qualifies for
several very high-percentage trends favoring dogs post-bye and a few other variables.
After a week of rest and preparation (and watching several teams manhandle Buffalo),
Herm Edwards and his team will win this game. This team is not as down as they
could be at 0-4. They have faith in their head coach who turned around a similar
situation last year to get into the playoffs. New York typically fares well in
this matchup, having won the last four straight. Drew Bledsoe will probably be
without his number one weapon – Eric Moulds and Peerless Price is not there
to pick up the slack this year. Not a good omen for a team ranked 3rd worst in
offense in the league (275 yards per game). Even without Moulds, the Bill’s
strength is their passing game and NY matches up well there (3rd best in the
league in pass defense). The Jets are 0-4 but they have played a tough schedule.
Their opponents’ record to-date is 12-6 (67%). Buffalo isn’t that
good. Take the Jets to win outright.
PLAYS: Take NY ATS and Straight-up (Money-Line)
RESULT:
NY Jets 30, Buffalo 3
