Great information and I totally agree. I’m not sure many sports bettors realize how important returning offensive line starters are to a college football team. The cohesiveness of an offensive line is absolutely critical to the success of a football team.

If you can’t protect the QB or open up holes for the RB, then you better have one heck of a defense. Pay special attention to any team that is bringing back 4-5 starters on the offensive line…especially early on in the season.

Wow!! Boise St. at #1. That is one bold prediction, but I like it. I’m glad to see you’re giving them the respect they probably deserve. I’m still not sold on Nebraska, but we’ll see how they play out in the Big 12…although like you said, they’re non-con schedule is ridiculous. Anyways, good info. as always.

Interesting article there, “Wundercat.” I have to agree with you that there are plenty of smaller schools who have an overwhelming home field advantage. In particular, off the top of my head, are the Tulsa Hurricanes, along with a few other teams from Conference USA as well. Smaller schools in smaller towns can have a huge local following.

Home field advantage can amount to a sizable edge, even more so in college than the NFL. When you’re researching and handicapping games, don’t forget to include that variable in your numbers.

I actually heard on ESPN last night that the Patriots with Brady at QB have historically converted 76% of the time on 4th and 2 or less so my 72% estimate was actually low.

I agree….playing in the Rose Bowl was in fact just an extra home game for USC…and the had to invite a Big 10 team to seel tickets….and the beer commercials. Georgia played a good game against an over rated Hawaii.

If anyone deserves any part of a shared National Champoinship…it should be West Virginia. They played like TRUE CHAMPIONS…and this comes from an Oklahoma fan back to the Barry Switzer days.
