When injuries mount & how they affect your College Football Picks

When injuries mount & how they affect your College Football Picks

As October comes closer during the college football season, bettors will have to adjust a little bit. The problem, of course, is that football is a tough and grueling game. As weeks pile onto weeks, teams get tired and they get hurt. If you listen to most coaches speak before you make college football picks, you will learn that the backup is just as good as the starter. They won’t miss their left tackle at all, right? Smart bettors can see through this when they make their informed NCAA football picks. Instead of listening to the coach speak, they understand that starters are starters for a reason.

One thing that lines tend to underrate are injuries that have been impacting teams for quite a while. Lines will initially react when a key player goes down, but as the weeks go on, the public seems to forget about how important this is. When you are a smart handicapper, you will find value in these moments. Know that the team is still hurt by an injury in the 3rd week, and if the public seems to think that the impact is small, you have your chance to make money. Don’t be afraid to go against the grain in this regard.

Los Angeles Lakers NBA Picks & Predictions

Los Angeles Lakers NBA Picks & Predictions

The Los Angeles Lakers are arguably the best team in the NBA right now and have won two straight NBA titles to prove that fact, but even though they have been the most dominant team in the league over the past two years, they have never really been 100% healthy as their once promising young center Andrew Bynum has continued to have knee problems every single season.

Obviously, with or without Bynum the Lakers seem to do just fine, but there is no question that they are a much better basketball team with their versatile seven footer defending the paint.

During the entire postseason last year, the Los Angeles Lakers were extremely concerned about the health of their young center as he continued to battle these nagging knee problems, but even without him in the lineup they were still favored in NBA picks throughout the playoffs.

Apparently, Bynum’s rehabilitating knee is not coming along like the team had been anticipating and once again the big kid will miss some time on the floor as it has been said that he is doubtful at best to play in the upcoming preseason for the Los Angeles Lakers.

The wrong way to approach your college football picks

The wrong way to approach games

As we talk about college football picks and how to make them, we often talk about some of the rules that we need to use in order to make the right picks. One thing that we don’t often talk about is how to do things the wrong way. You need to know the wrong way to approach games, as this will help you avoid those traps and mishaps that often plague bad bettors. So what is the wrong way to go about making NCAA football picks? For one, you don’t need to go addressing all of the factors that matter on the field of play. Chances are you don’t know enough to make a difference anyway.

Cursory glances at games that reveal things like, “UCONN runs the ball well against Big East foes,” are not all that helpful. Though these things might make you feel better in justifying your pick, they won’t make you a winning bettor. You need to address questions of value, and this means adjusting your sights to public perception. You are betting against the rest of the public, and if you want to be a winning college football bettor, you will always have a keen eye on the value proposition.

NFL Week 3: Packers vs Bears MNF NFL Picks

NFL Week 3: Packers @ Bears MNF NFL Picks

Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears Mon. Sept. 27th 8:30pm EST

The Green Bay Packers have had their fair share of struggles in the first two games of the regular season, but despite losing their starting running back Ryan Grant to an ankle injury and seeing perennial Pro Bowl quarterback Aaron Rodgers throw a couple picks in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Packers are the real deal and will look to prove just how good they really are in Week 3’s divisional showdown against the up and coming Chicago Bears.

In Week 2, the Chicago Bears put on a show against the Dallas Cowboys as they were able to put away America’s team after being big underdogs in NFL picks, but Week 3 they will go up against perhaps their toughest opponent of the season as Aaron Rodgers and company are as good as it gets right now.

Personally, I really can’t see Jay Cutler’s squad getting the best of the cheese heads, but with their ability to disrupt potent offenses with their lockdown defense, this could be another game that could go either way with the fourth quarter being where it will all be decided.

NFL Week 3: Steelers vs Buccaneers NFL Picks

NFL Week 3: Steelers @ Bucs (NFL Picks)

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Tampa Bay Bucs Sun. Sept. 26th 1pm EST

The Pittsburgh Steelers headed into this NFL regular season as underdogs in the AFC North division because they struggled to make anything happen last season and they would be without their superstar quarterback Ben Roethlisberger for the first six games of the year due to suspension for violating the league’s person conduct policy.

Even though it looked like it would be a rough road to start the season for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Mike Tomlin and company have done better than expected in the first two games of the regular season as they have been able to beat two playoff caliber teams in the Atlanta Falcons and the Tennessee Titans in consecutive weeks while pulling off some upsets in NFL picks.

Unfortunately, this last win against the Titans came at a cost as speedy quarterback Dennis Dixon went down with a left knee injury that would have veteran quarterback Charlie Batch playing under center.

In Week 3, Dixon’s status is uncertain, but the Steelers will be going up against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who will almost certainly struggle against the lockdown defense of Pittsburgh.
