It seems that there are very few things that are constant in the sports world – very few things you can count on. However, one of those things that you can set your watch to are the rumors that Kevin Garnett wants to be traded. From mid-season to the NBA off season KG trade rumors are always swirling.

But alas, it seems that KG has finally found a new home and a team willing to pull the trigger on the trade. KG is on his way to Beantown to join the Celtics.

The deal is all sewn up except for a few dotting the Is and crossing the Ts and still needs NBA approval but pretty much everything is all said and done. Boston gets Garnett and in exchange

Minnesota gets several players from the Celtics. Although no names were set in stone the players with the highest probability of being traded are Al Jefferson, guard Sebastian Telfair, swingman Gerald Green and center Theo Ratliff.

The addition of Garnett makes the Celtics the front-runner in a weak Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. The trade also forms a dangerous trio of KG, Paul Pierce recent acquisition Ray Allen.  Pierce, 29, led the Celtics in scoring last season but played only 47 games because of injury.  Allen, who turns 32 next month, averaged a career-high 26.4 points last season, his 11th, but underwent surgery to remove bone spurs on both ankles. Despite Allen’s and Pierce’s recent injury woes, the trio has the potential trio get the Celtics deep into the playoffs and to help Boston to the past glory as they won an NBA best 16 championships but have only won three playoff series during Pierce’s tenure. This new trifecta hopes to push for the team’s first NBA title since 1986.  Garnett, 31, has played all 12 years with the Timberwolves, but championship aspirations never elevated past aspirations in the Twin Cities. The trade is a resurrection of interest after a failed attempt to being KG to Boston fizzled in June. At that time KG’s agent had said his client wasn’t interested in relocating to

Boston, but the Celtic’s draft-day acquisition of Allen probably sweetened the deal for Garnett who has been dying to play with a strong supporting cast – something that the T’Wolves brass was either unwilling or unable to pull off.
