*****NY
YANKEES -250 over Baltimore (7:05 Eastern)
Cajone-check
here. You need to have chutzpah to play this one
given the line. But, I LOVE the Yankees here folks.
Winnners of 8 of 9, they have closed the gap on the
Red Sox. This is "Yankee time" my friends and they
need to keep winning to have a shot at winning the
AL East. The Orioles have lost five of six and tonight
they have to face Randy Johnson and a Yankees
team that has beaten them 5 out of 7 thus far at
Yankee Stadium this season. Johnson is 3-0 with a
2.10 ERA his last five starts. Rodrigo Lopez starts
for Baltimore and after a nice start, he's witherd,
losing three of his last four starts. In his last
start against the Yankees, he got pummeled to the
tune of 10 runs in just three innings of action as
New York went on to win the game 12-3. New York loves
September and they have been on a tear, putting up
6.7 runs per game over their last seven games. They
are red hot and huge favorites of -200 or more having
won 18 or more of their last 25 games are 87-14 (86%)
in September games since 1997. Five stars onthe Yanks.
*San
Diego -174 over COLORADO (8:35 Eastern)
Twenty
runs. Ouch. San Diego is going to be
fighting mad tonight. And, with Peavy
taking the mound against a rookie, this
one should be no contest. Jacob Peavy
is 12-7 on the season with a 2.98 ERA.
Backing him up is an excellent bullpen.
The Pads simply had an off night last
night and can't afford another loss here.
They should bounce back nicely. San Diego
is 11-1 revenging a loss where opponent
scored 12 or more runs over the last
2 seasons. Also, home underdogs at +125
or more that's batting .315 or better
over their last 5 games facing an opponent
with a hot starting pitcher (ERA less
than 2.50 over his last 5 starts) are
just 9-44 (17%) since 1997. One star
on the Padres here.
**LA
Dodgers +120 over ARIZONA (9:05 Eastern)
The
Dodger look to snap their losing streak
tonight in the desert. LA is 17-10 vs.
Arizona over the past three seasons in
games played in Arizona including a winning
4-3 this year. They'll look to Brad Penny
who owns the D-Backs. Earlier this year
he pitched a shutout against Arizona yielding
just three hits in 8 innings. Lifetime
he is a perfect 4-0 against Arizona posting
a 1.27 ERA and 0.825 WHIP. And we get him
as a dog? Great! Arizona's offense is weak
(3 runs per game over last seven) and their
bullpen is atrocious. Arizona is 18-24
as
a home favorite of -110 or higher
this season and 4-16 at home when
the total is 7 to 8.5. They are also 11-20
this year at home vs. losing teams. Two
stars on the underdog that should be favored.

How
much to bet? I recommend 1% of your bankroll for every
star. A one-star pick = 1% of bankroll. A five-star pick
= 5% of bankroll. It is strongly recommended that
you never bet more than 5% of your bankroll on any given
game! Remember, there are no such thing as locks.
Never bet over your head and you'll live to see another
day. Approach your bets as an investment that grows steadily
over the long-term. For more, see
my write-up on Bankroll
Management.
