Today's NCAA Basketball Picks:

Game: Iowa State at Oklahoma State (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 2 units on Oklahoma State -2 (-110) (risk 2 to win 1.8)

It has been an unexpected joy ride through early February for the Iowa State Cyclones who bring a 17-6 mark with them to Stillwater. They have not had a lot of road games, and it has shown itself, as they have posted just a 3-4 mark on the road. The Cowboys are looking to even-up their record at 12-12, have still fared well here at 8-3 on the season. The Cowboys held their own vs. a rugged Baylor team before losing by 4 here, and pinned one of just two losses on Missouri here by 7. Winning has come frequently for the home-standing Cowboys, including vs. the number where they are 36-16-2 ATS in their last 54 at home. Play on Oklahoma State.

It has been a difficult ride for the Texas Tech Red Raiders since Bobby Knight left. They are just 7-15 on the season and 1-7 on the road heading to Kansas State. The Wildcats opened the season at 11-1, but have really been a mediocre squad since at 5-5. They have also posted just one win by the amount needed to cover a monster number here since conference play began, covering 10 games, and they have dropped their last three ATS. Texas tech is facing some big numbers, but show signs of improvement and being under-valued by the fact that they have covered each of their last three when taking +12 or more. They have stood tall when facing a team with a home winning percentage of greater than .600, covering four of their last five. The Wildcats are leaving the "A" game in the locker room vs. poor teams where they are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 vs. a team with a losing road record. Play on Texas Tech.

While this is by no means the Iron Bowl, rest assured that these teams hate each other regardless of the sport, which usually means an intense battle will breakout. The Tide will have to take the floor for this one without a key player in Tony Mitchell who has been suspended by Coach Anthony Grant for conduct detrimental to the team. That takes 13 points per game and 31 quality minutes away from the Tide in this one. The Tigers have been awful on the road, but at 12-1 at home they are a much different team. The Tigers have allowed their last five opponents to average just 53.8 points per game here, and a handicapped Tide team may fall below offensive expectations as well. The Tigers’ defense has led the way to a 12-5 UNDER mark in their last 17 at home, so play the UNDER in this one.
