Four-year-old is in a graet barn off of long layoffs (Mike Trombetta 23%) and he has this runner spotted where he can win. The horse to beat. 2nd pick: #7 (Heiden) - Claimed two back for $7500, colt raced evenly for $15K in his first for the new barn and will drop down to $10,000 in this spot. In a good Finger Lakes-based outfit and a win candidate. 3rd pick: #4 (Solutionfinders) - If you forgive his latest when he had all sorts of problems at the start, gelding was competitive in his previous start at this level. Contends with an alert getaway. 4th pick: #3 (Shoutout) - He finished second last out at this level and distance and will race off a negative barn switch via a claim. Very dangerous if he holds his present form. AQUEDUCT Race #5 at 2:15 PM Eastern Top pick: #4 (FORTYDEUCE) - The probable favotite, he finished second last out chasing the pace for $20K. Effort came off a seven week freshening and trainer Bruce Brown will drop him down to a new low. The horse to beat. 2nd pick: #3 (Royal Inmate) - Stretch-out sprinter was eliminated at the break in his latest and grey gelding was bet down to favoritism that afternoon. Gets a new rider and is a threat on the front-end. 3rd pick: #7 (Cameron Canyon) - He didn't show much in his debut, but it may have just been an educational effort. Drops, gets a rider change, and trainer Dom Galluscio wins at a 43% clip second time out. 4th pick: #2 (Raytessa) - One-paced type finished third two back, but was 5 back of "Forty", then he returned to race evenly in his latest. Can grab a share with one of his better efforts. TAMPA BAY DOWNS Race #6 at 2:45 PM Eastern Top pick: #7 (FLY EXPRESS) - Veteran grey mare has been competing in these 5 furlong grass sprints for many years now and is (25-5-10-1) overall. She's been raced into shape following a seven month layoff and last out she set a quick pace here facing tougher and missed by a 1/2 length. Looks set for another big race. 2nd pick: #5 (Excessive Heat) - Another grey mare and this hard-hitting veteran will be running for the first time since Feb. 26 of last year. She's faced tougher her entire career and has banked $208K from winning eight of these turf sprints. Working fine, she's in the barn of the leading trainer at this meet (Jamie Ness), who's winning at a 47% clip here. 3rd pick: #3 (Trippadeedooda) - Lightly raced 4-year-old daughter of "Trippi" is (7-3-2-0) at this distance and last out finished second here at this level. Speed/stalker should be in this from gate to wire. 4th pick: #1 (Cherry on the Top) - Speedy mare likes to get involved from the break and this lightly raced 7-year-old has the inside post. Last out she chased the pace and weakened slightly to finish almost a length back of our top pick here. She'll take them as far as she can. TAMPA BAY DOWNS Race #10 at 4:35 PM Eastern Top pick: #7 (WELL EXCUUUZE ME) - Gelding came here from Hawthorne in late Dec. and in his first start on this surface he rallied to finish third racing in a $10K claimer going 7 furlongs. Claimed that day by Jamie Ness, he brings him back 25 days later with a slight dip in price and stretches him back out in distance. Ness has been winning at a steady 34% rate first off a claim for the past year. 2nd pick: #6 (Tango Whiskey) - Very consistent 4-year-old was an easy winner here Dec. 23 racing at this price to clear the 2l level, then finished a strong second last out at this 3l level. Gelding will be in this from start to finish. 3rd pick: #10 (Awesome Review) - He's been competitive in both local starst after coming here from the Northeast and getting a two month break. He's faced better most of his career and is now at his proper level. 4th pick: #2 (Its Business Time) - Has some back class and appears to be racing into shape following a long layoff. Stretches-out today off a good effort at this price going 6.5 furlongs Jan. 15.
