The 2011 NFL regular season is nearly upon us. The excitement is building. We will be hitting the NFL preseason hard (67% winning NFL pre-seasons) but before that, it's time to take advantage of the the NFL Season Wins bets.

Every year I predict NFL season performance (regular season win totals). Based on the performance (60% on 74 picks with only one losing season including 64% (21-12 on Best Bets), this is becoming one of the must-haves for serious NFL bettors. NFL Team Wins Totals - A great opportunity
Why are betting NFL season win totals such a great opportunity? Primarily because so few people put in the time and effort to make these types of NFL picks. Of the few that do put in time on these predictions, I believe that no one looks at them as scientifically as I do. Simply put, no one puts in the effort I do in predicting season win totals and the results bear this out.

2011 NFL Predictions - Team Win Totals

Houston Texans OVER 8.5 wins (-145) - 2 units

• Offense is nearly unstoppable
• Defense was horrible but Phillips - not great head coach but gread D coordinator
• Added Jonathan Joseph and Danieal Manning in secondary

Minnesota Vikings OVER 7 wins (-140) - 2 units

• -11 in turnovers last season
• New coach typically = more wins
• McNabb likely has one good year in him, especially with AP toting the rock.

New York Jets UNDER 10 wins (-130) - 2 units

• Overperformed last year
• +9 turnovers last year
• 3rd toughest schedule this year

(Best Bet) Cincinnati Bengals OVER 5.5 wins (+130) - 3 units

The Bengals suffered from -8 turnovers last year, along with the 4th hardest schedule going into last season (the absolute hardest when looking back on the season). This year, they get the 4th easiest, which is the biggest swing for any team. While they only won four games in 2010, their statistics would have predicted six (pythagorean wins), indicating that this team is underrated going into 2011. This is further evidenced by the fact that the Bengals were -5 net losses in close games (expectation is around 0) last season. Bruce Gradkowski is perennially underrated and given Carson Palmer's recent performance, Gradkowski may not be a downgrade. The core numbers for this team were not that bad last season (#20 on offense and #15 on defense). It's not hard for me to see Cincy winning six or more games in 2011.
